The energy of the month of February

The name February comes from the Latin word februum, which means purification and it is destined to be a month of inner cleansing and renewal supporting personal growth and the deepening of our spiritual insights. Attuning to February’s energy allows us to acknowledge the bridge between winter’s introspection and spring’s upcoming awakening by focusing on self-love and our personal evolution.

At the start of this second month of the year, the ancient festival of Imbolc is celebrated. Imbolc translates as in the womb or in the belly, refering to the earliest of beginnings, where the seeds of spring are stirring, but the noticable signs of life are still hidden or are merely shown in very subtle ways and forms. Under the veil of winter lies the promise of new life as birds resume to sing their song, snowdrops show their white flowerheads above the ground, and the first lambs of the season are being born. Imbolc represents the energy of inspiration and anticipation towards expansion and the abundant gifts of a new promising season.

On the 12th of February the second full moon of the year will appear in the night sky in the astrological sign of Leo, also known as the Snowmoon. With temperatures often still dipping below freezing point and nature covered in a blanket of ice and snow, the Snowmoon represents stillness, purity, and dormant potential. However, the Leo-aspect of this moon also brings in a surge of fiery energy, encouraging us to explore the seeds of our passion, confidence, and creativity, which complements the awakening spirit of the month of February.

And then, on the 14th of February Valentine’s Day is celebrated, which in a spiritual sense serves as an excellent reminder of the power and importance of love in our relationships with our fellow human beings as well as the Divine and our beloved helpers and supporters in the higher realms. The astrological sign of Aquarius, which is connected to the month of February, further enhances this energy by its aspiration to create positive change and make a difference in the world for the benefit of humanity as a whole.

My beloved ones,

It is wonderful, wonderful, wonderful to be present here with you as you open your lovely bright and shining hearts to the words that I am about to speak. And yes, you hearts are like brightly burning beacons filled with love as we angels observe you in your human bodies, even though it might not feel like this is accurate to you, dear ones. The message that I, Barchiel, the Archangel of love, laughter, and abundance, am about to convey to you, is about the unification of the polarities that you perceive as darkness and light, as cold and warm, as bad and good. That is why I chose to attune to the energies of February in the northern hemisphere, because this month marks the transition from winter into spring, from an inactive and restful state back to an active state of growth and expansion, because just when all seems dark and barren, signs of hope and change appear on the horizon. My energy is one of hope, all is not lost, there are always gifts of love and abundance under the surface, around the corner, waiting to blossom in your life and take you by surprise. I am the Archangel that makes you smile again and fills you up with light and laughter. I am the one who shines a light on your persumed darkness and the one who makes it seem as the most natural thing in the world, which it is, because without the darkness, you would not be able to recognize the light.

The only reason that this darkness has a grip on you, dear ones, is because you hold strong judgments about it, personalizing it as if it is attached to your heart and being, when in fact it is not. It cannot be so, because your true nature is and always will be one of love and abundance and I have come to visit with you at this moment to help you see this from a refreshed perspective and from the depths of your being. So let us start with a little bit of spring cleaning, getting rid of the mental cobwebs that cloud your judgment and that make you feel less worthy and undeserving of all the blessings in life. Get rid of the thought that you are stuck in winter, get rid of the thought that you are stuck at all, it is simply not possible, because the universe constantly inhales and exhales, it is alive and breathing, its nature is that of change, of growth, and of expansion. How can you find this flow of life within yourself again when you are coming out of a metaphorical winter where all seems cold, barren, and bored? By looking for the testimonies of love and abundance that are always around you with a spirit of gratitude and appreciation. For every negative thought or observation, immediately focus on a positive one on the same subject, by unifying the seemingly opposite sides of the story that you tell. When you position yourself in the middle, you will be able to observe both the negative and the positive from a balanced perspective, knowing that the one cannot exist without the other and your only task is to let them be without the judgment that will tip the scale one way or the other.

You take yourselves way too serious most of the times, dearest ones. Flowing with life means balancing out the scales and it helps if you find a fun and uplifting way to do so. Let us look at the upcoming events in this wonderful month called February. From the perspective of the angels every day is the same and equally important and blessed, but as human beings you like to keep dates and attach value and significance to events that you can concretize with material objects, mental legacies, and forms of cultural inheritance, which offers support and structure to your human world. Why not use this to your advantage as long as you realize that what truly counts are your intentions and energy-frequency? I will joyfully join you this month! I will joyfully join you when you set out to look for the first signs of spring in the natural world as well as in your inner world and rejoice with you as you marvel, write, and speak about them in gratitude and your heart awakens with sparks of renewed inspiration. I will joyfully join you as you celebrate the power of love on February 14th, and I will encourage you to keep those feelings alive for the rest of the year. Look for evidence of love in all places, let it warm your heart, look at your fellow human beings through the eyes of love and you will be blessed with an unstoppable energy of goodness and light, because you will remember your true nature, which is a radiant unconditional love. I will joyfully join you as the beautiful full moon, that graces your night sky, will inspire you to release what no longer serves you and to make way for your passions and priorities in life.

Do you ever contemplate what is truly important to you? Do you know what you truly wish for? You would be surprised how many people are unclear about what it is they want, who they wish to be and what they are passionate about. If you would be given a bag filled with metaphorical spring seeds, what would you be sowing? What qualities within yourself, what energy around you? Remember that manifestations are preceeded by energy. Your focus should always begin with an energetical perspective naturally accompanied by feelings of excitment, anticipation, and joy. Take time to allow yourself to reflect on this.

Finally, I would like to leave you with one more piece of inspiration. As the arrival of spring will melt away the snow and ice, let the frozen emotions and walls around your heart melt away. Smile and picture a fire that warms you from the inside out, it is safe for you to do so. You suffer more from your own coldness than that of others, because it is your own judgment that holds you captive in a prison of ice and snow. Let it melt, dear ones, and rejoice, you owe it to yourself, to your spirit and to your soul to thrive and radiate your energy of love and abundance, your true nature. Nobody can do this for you, only you have the power, take that responsibility for yourself and your own happiness and let nothing or nobody stop you. You are so much prettier and fun to be around when you are at peace and content, and soon the world around you will reflect this! Get excited for a new season, an exciting time of love and abundance and do not settle for anything less in your heart, my dearest ones, because it is coming, as it always does.
